Spain to Promote Film Tourism at FITUR 2019

Madrid’s trade fair institution, IFEMA, and Spain Film Commission are working together to create and promote a new platform aimed at connecting the tourism and film industries.

The initiative is to premier at the next FITUR international tourism fair, taking place in Madrid from January 23 – 27, 2019.

According to the two bodies, the public’s increasing interest in visiting filming locations for movies - and especially hit TV series - offers a major opportunity for the film industry to play a role in publicising these destinations and promoting visits to these areas.

Confident this growing global phenomenon represents a potent option for diversifying tourism and combating seasonality, FITUR is providing a platform for connecting the tourism and film industries, the new FITUR Cine/Screen Tourism section, in partnership with Spain Film Commission.
