Minister Discusses Skiathos Tourism Development Plans

Elena Kountoura, minister, tourism, Greece, recently met with Demetris Prevezanos, mayor, Skiathos, to discuss the Greek island’s further tourism development.

The two discussed tourism movement on the island so far this summer and how the needs of tourists are being met at the destination.

Prevezanos also briefed the minister of the island’s plans for further tourism development, including the strengthening of marine tourism.

They two, in addition, discussed the greater promotion of Skiathos on an international level.

Covering an area of just 48 km², the island of Skiathos is situated in the northwest Aegean Sea and makes up part of the Sporades archipelago. The Municipality of Skiathos also includes the islets of Tsougria, Tsougriaki, Maragos, Arkos, Troulonisi and Aspronisi. The main island is well-known for its beaches and nightlife.
