Grodno welcomed about 14,000 visa-free tourists over the same period in 2017.
Over 2,200 visa-free visitors visited Grodno specifically for a festival-filled weekend during the city’s June 01 – 03 Festival of National Cultures. Most of them were citizens of Poland and Lithuania with Grodno welcoming residents of 47 countries all in all.
Belarusian news agency BelTA earlier reported presidential decree No.462 on visa-free travels for foreign nationals came into force on January 01. It extended the duration of the visa-free stay period to 10 days, expanded the territory visa-free tourists are allowed to visit, and increased the number of border checkpoints for visa-free entry.
