A Greek Tourism Organisation (EOT) announcement said the increased interest was revealed during its contacts at the recently held Bucharest-based Targul de Turism al Romaniei Romexpo tourism fair.
EOT had a pavilion at the fair and Charalambos Karimalis, chairman, board, EOT, visited the exhibition to meet with Romanian tourist industry leaders and the local press.
EOT-organised events during the travel fair included recognising Dragos Gabriel Zisopol, chairman, Hellenic Union of Romania, for his long-term efforts to promote relations between the two countries and Greek culture throughout Romania.
Gabriel was handed his award during a Union event showcasing Greek dancing and music at the fair.
EOT also recognised Alin Burcea, chairman, National Association of Travel Agencies, Romania; Marian Constantinescu, writer; and Erotokritos ‘Akis’ Spyratos, owner, travel agency, for their contribution when promoting Greece to the Romania market.
