WIZZ Announces Chisinau Expansion

Moldovan low-cost airline Wizz Air (WIZZ) announced a 68 percent increase of its Chisinau operations adding a second Airbus A320 aircraft at its local base in December.

At the same time, WIZZ is set to launch five long-awaited routes from Chisinau to Memmingen, Dortmund (Germany), Paris Beauvais (France), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Brussels Charleroi (Belgium).

Together with the new connections, some of the most popular services from Chisinau to London-Luton, Milan-Bergamo, Venice-Treviso, Berlin-Schönefeld and Rome-Ciampino, will have increased weekly frequencies.

In total 17 incremental flights will be added to WIZZ’s schedule from Chisinau in 2019.

WIZZ started its operations from Chisinau International Airport in 2013.

The latest announcement brings WIZZ’s investment in its Chisinau base to more than USD200 million. By increasing its operations by 68 percent, WIZZ will offer over 700,000 seats on 13 routes to eight countries in 2019.
