In celebration of its inaugural non-stop connection from Dusseldorf to Orlando, airberlin surprised passengers with a gift from Walt Disney World, while cabin crew wore Disney-inspired outfits.

The carrier's summer schedule now includes five weekly flights to Orlando International Airport, its third destination in Florida alongside Miami and Fort Myers.

"Overall, we have increased the capacity of our flight schedule to Florida in the past 12 months by 76 per cent, while capacity on our US routes grew by 53 percent on average.

We look forward to bringing business travellers and tourists to Orlando as well as flying even more international passengers to Dusseldorf," said, Thomas Winkelmann, CEO, airberlin.
